Every material error, logged and dated, outside the paywall.
Research gets things wrong. Figures are misread, a source is stale, a calculation is transposed, an argument turns out to rest on something that was not true. What separates a research business from a marketing business is not the absence of errors — it is what happens next.
The commitment
- Every material error is logged here, dated. Material means it could have changed what a reader thought or did.
- The original is corrected in place and marked as corrected. Nothing is silently edited. A page that changes without saying so is not a record.
- If the error touched a live recommendation, a note goes to subscribers the same way the recommendation did — not quietly, and not only to whoever complained.
- This log is public and outside the paywall. You should be able to read our mistakes before you decide whether to pay us.
The log
Nothing has been corrected yet, because nothing has been published yet. This page exists before it is needed, on purpose. A corrections log created after the first mistake is a log whose first entry has already been decided against.
Telling us about one
If you think something published here is wrong, say so — the grievance route on the grievance page reaches a person, and a factual correction does not need to be a formal complaint to be acted on. Corrections that turn out to be right get logged whether or not they arrived politely.
What this page is not. It is not a performance record. It does not say whether ideas made money, and it is not evidence of skill. It records factual errors and what was done about them, which is a narrower and more checkable thing.
